Knowledge Sharing in the CGIAR – An Interview with Nancy White

Knowledge sharing is a big part of what we do at the ICT-KM Program. Just take a peek at some of the work we’ve being doing since we got started, and you’ll see that we’ve been promoting Knowledge Sharing, or KS as we like to call it, since day one. Although many people have eagerly embraced what we’ve had to offer, others have taken a little longer to warm to KS.

The year that has passed

Another fruitful year is behind us at the ICT-KM Program; a year of progress, change and growth.  A year that started off with a great ShareFair, a year that saw us learning from an external evaluation,  a year during which many of our projects came to an end …
Rather than try to thank each of you individually, I would like to take this opportunity to look at the work you have done as a member of the ICT-KM team during 2009 – the very least I can do to express my appreciation for your relentless commitment, passion, dedication and achievements.

There’s wisdom in waiting: the CGX 2.0 Coaching Strategy a month later

Last October 29, the CGX 2.0 team (Tania, Michael and myself) attended “Knowledge Sharing: Getting Together to Do It Better“, at IDLO Headquarters in Rome. The event was jointly organized by the KM4Dev Rome chapter and the Rome-based organizations that had already collaborated for the ShareFair in January 2009.

And then there were ten …

When we began our blog series on Social Medial Tools two months ago, we had no idea how successful it would be. Feedback from readers has been positive and encouraging, so much so that Meena Arivananthan (who has written the series with input from Antonella Pastore and Simone Staiger-Rivas) finished the tenth post on these tools a few days ago. And there’s no stopping her.
For easy reference, we have assembled the various links to these mini tutorials below, so you can now tell at a glance where to get help on newsfeeds, wikis, microblogging, and much, much more:

Put it out there! Tools for photo, video and slideshow sharing (#10 Social Media Tools Series)

Sometimes I face bouts of uncertainty and wonder if the work we do in the CGIAR really reaches the people for whom it was intended. I know others feel the same way, as I’ve had conversations with people on this very topic. Since I started working with the ICT-KM Program, I’ve had the opportunity to examine this concern through a benchmarking exercise that the Program is spearheading.
